Mobile Routers

Mobile Routers are designed for anything that moves; busses, boats, police vehicles, ambulances, etc. They are more rugged than the Branch routers. The rugged nature protects the unit from vibrations, shock, dust, splash & humidity.

Unlike the Branch Routers, the Mobile routers do not come with antennas or power supplies. Since the routers are generally mounted in vehicles, the antennas are generally mounted external to the vehicles. The Mobile Routers come with a GPIO cable which can be wired up to the vehicle's DC power source to provide power for the routers. So, when purchasing one of the Mobile Routers, it is necessary to purchase antennas, Cellular and WiFi. For the most part, these antennas come as 1 unit. Some vehicles, have electrical outlets that the routers need to be plugged into. In this case, a power supply must be purchased.

Some of the Mobile Routers are also available as IOT routers. These routers have IOT class SKUs and have different services in the Ericsson NetCloud Manager (NCM). The IOT SKUs come with antennas and power supplies, while the Mobile Routers come with a GPIO cable and no antennas or power supplies.

Depending on the model, the Mobil Routers are available with LTE modems and/or 5G modems. Some of the routers are able to accept a second modem. Some require an adapter to add a second modem.
